I’m loathe to keep to a deadline (which I’ve always found morbidly pressurising) for a few very good reasons:
- Punctuality is the death knell of the soul.
- I’m incredibly forgetful.
- I can’t remember the third.
Plus, in the modern age that we’re currently living in (before we hit the rewind back to the early 20th century in a few weeks) data is key. It’s our immoral obligation to provide these hungry servers with our every wit and criticism. Without data we won’t progress as a species towards a technological utopia where ethereal androids pat our heads, clean up our mess and tell us what a good little homo saps we’ve been. Before wiping us out for sport. Or whatever pastime androids enjoy. Knitting, possibly. Wiping us out for knitting.
So we’ve come to an agreement, written up in blood and fur. I’ll be studiously providing virtual content describing my thoughts and feelings (littered with untruths and inanity) approx. every fortnight for the delectable pleasure of future-kind and for the sporadic individuals dotted around the globe like negligible x-men. It’s probably not what you would have wanted but that can’t be helped. I’m here mainly to serve my forthcoming robot overlords.
For the sake of today’s sermon – here is what is currently occurring:
1. Novel writing. Currently this is in a limbo state. A particularly fragile limbo state. Let’s put it at the lowest rung with the semblance of a calypso beat wafting over the airwaves.
Mythomania is going through a bit of a literary haircut.Making sure all the full stops are in the right place. That sentences don’t suddenly
Seething Fury is going to need more extensive snipping.Possibly some extensions – which I dread (rubbish joke – sorry).I’m marking that down for late summer (NB: There are also beaches, ice creams and multiple distractions in that period so don’t expect a lot).
Kerry San Dever – not even written.Marked down for later in the year.‘Good luck with that!’Says Jeremy sarcastically (but still cute).
2. RASHAMON!!!!!!!
I’ve got some ideas about doing some new tracks sometime soon.I can’t get more vague than that.
So there you have it. In my personal life I’m still attempting to raise a reasonable human being. I wouldn’t underestimate the amount of effort I have to put into that. I have to play with Lego and everything. I’ve also been roped unceremoniously into gardening, which I have next to no interest in. I’m pretty good at killing plants, I have to admit. The rest remains a mystery.
In case you were wondering about my Star Trek intake – I’ve reached this pinnacle:
TOS – Done.
TOS Movies – Also done.
Animated Series – Mostly….skipped a few.
TNG – up to halfway through Series 7. Just about to watch Sub Rosa…..wish me luck. Thanks again, Jeremy.
DS9 – halfway through Series 2. It’s been a struggle here but it’s picking up and DS9 is definitely edgier and more political – I like it! Mostly.
I’m also mainly watching Better Call Saul, Love, Veep, Agents of SHIELD and Catastrophe. I’m planning to move onto American Gods and Sense8 series 2 shortly.
I went to see GOTG 2 twice at the cinematheque. The first time I missed the first 5 mins so was good to get a more rounded piece on the second go. It doesn’t match the original but it tries ever so hard. And any film with Rocket Raccoon in it is always going to be a winner for me.
I have no further plans beyond working and parenting and mooching around. Occasionally doing the laundry. Stuff like that. Hope you’re all well and I’ll be in touch again in TWO WEEKS!
Are you happy now, toy? Nah. Didn’t think so.
