Still, I’m sure we’re all becoming accustomed to that way of thinking these days. I’m hoping it’s a generational thing. We’re all adults just glancing around nervously, clenching and unclenching our fists…laughing off the changes in weather and economy. Saying that ‘In my day…..the Doctor barely even looked at a woman, let alone treat her almost as an equal’. You’ve never had it so good.
“Had what?” someone declares.
“Erm……” we respond before jumping out of the nearest window.
So what happened? Well, I’m not entirely sure and there are much brighter and less tired minds than mine on social media who can give you a bulging catalogue of reasons. Oh, you mean with my blog? Well, erm…..
I’m blaming the summer, mainly. It being hot and sticky and draining and all that. Also, Lego. Lego is so time consuming. Particularly when you’re the one shouldering most of the building design just because your associate is 6 years old and can’t read instructions properly.
And Pokemon! Man, that’s so addictive. I know that barely anybody else is playing it these days but to a middle aged collector like me it’s a terrifying drain on time. ‘Gotta catch em all’ they sing in my ear all day long for no apparent reason. One day it changed to ‘Gotta KILL em all’ but I had a whisky and lie down for a few hours and everything was alright once more. For now.
Plus, I’ve had to be social with visitors. That’s pretty tough too. Faking a smile and providing a warm handshake. Well, my handshakes are always warm….my palms just sweat profusely. And smiling is pretty easy - it's a variation on a grimace, that's all.
I haven't just been wasting all my time nodding and smiling and wandering about chucking balls at things that aren't there. No indeed. So you can quit with your surly admonishing right now.
I managed to write a couple of new Rashamon tracks via Korg Gadget that should be uploaded for someone's pleasure tomorrow. There will be some kind of alert when they're reading. Not a massive siren while you're eating your toast. More subtle than that. A little nudge via the old social media malarkey.
They have to be up tomorrow because after that I'm taking a holiday so that I can prepare myself for autumn and the inevitable book writing / rewriting. I intend to kick start with Kerry San Denver vs 1 so we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping to get on and self publish the others at some point. Posthumously, I expect. It's more gratifying.
Expect some further ramblings when I'm back. At some point. Don't rush me.
