Hello.
Sorry to have abandoned you for so long. You’re like a puppy that I locked up in a shed for 6 months with no food or water. Well, look how you’ve grown! Admitted, you’re a lot skinnier than when I last saw you. You’re also a lot less attentive and don’t even really seem to be moving.
Okay…
Well, as long as I have some semblance of your attention, I’ll let you know this: I finished the second draft of The Ring that Echoes.
This means that it’s all lovely and typed up and spinning about on some weird digital cloud out there. Nobody can see it yet, of course. Not till at least Draft 3 is done. The news on that front is that work will commence at some point in the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to write a Doctor Who short story. I’d always thought that would be something I’d like to do but I never got much further than that thought until the other day. I was awake at 4am as per usual and an idea popped into my head for the 13thDoctor and Graham that I thought was quite nifty.
Twenty-four pages later and it’s not seeming as nifty, but it’s been interesting to write. I’m hoping to finish it early next week and then put it away for a few months. I’ll come back to it at some point and do a second typed draft. May not go much further than that. The BBC certainly won’t want it…and I don’t blame them.
In other news, I’m intending to move to Lewes at the end of June. It’ll be a bit of an upheaval, so I’ll do my best to get TRTE 3rd draft done before then. That’ll leave me July to work on Draft 4 before I embark on a couple of months of research for The Sceptre that Trembles.
Then NaNoWriMo will be looming once again and I’ll have to figure out logistics for the November writing month. Hoping to get something together which will challenge me as much as last year. It was difficult but well worth it.
I would like to draw a line under TRTE when I finish Draft 4. Possibly look at some way to get it published but I’m not quite sure how I’ll achieve that. I’ve got a feeling that getting stuff published is a little bit tricky.
Anyway, it’s been good to catch up and I’d throw you a bone, but it looks like you have an ample supply as it is. Maybe see you again once I’ve finished another couple of drafts of stuff.
TTFN!
